I have been very aware of the methane hydrate problem for years. Ironically, I discussed it with my son in law a couple of years ago and he said the scientists were suprised because it was not showng up in the atmosphere.

Then a couple of years later I saw reports methane was starting to show up in larger amounts than anyone expected.

Methane is 23 times the greeenhouse gas CO2 is, and is what many theorize did life in during the Permian age.

The entire arctic is loaded with frozen methane hydrates.
