Believe me E*Trade was just as bad ! No way could I get into my account to make a trade. Very disappointing ! These online sites have a way to go to provide the service we as investors should and do expect !

All I could do was sit back and watch. As I see it, this weeks action is a wake-up call to all the on-line brokerages and the exchanges that they need to have excess, not just adequate network and transaction processing capacity so that they can handle days like today. Remember the brokerages make their money on trading commissions. If we can't trade, no commissions. The good ones will learn and adapt. I am also with Fidelity & was unhappy that I couldn't get through, but I will give them a chance to learn from this experience & fix their system. They have a reputation for outstanding customer service in the past (I have had no real complaints in 12 years). In contrast, the ETRADE system is often inaccessible on days when trading is merely a little above average. If you want to read horror stories, go look at the ETRADE SUCKS thread over in the Coffee Shop area of SI. Disclaimer: Everything above is in my opinion only.
