Interesting that you think Whitman has a chance.

You must consider yourself a moderate.

Bachman is not yet ready and she is a "representative". Not good - see Geraldine Ferraro. She struggled in the last election. Of course, it was in Franken country.

I don't think any of us should despair over 2012. I'm not!

Look, these are things that we can predict will happen:

The economy is not bouncing back any time soon. If it tries, Congressional meddling and tax hikes will kill it.

People will start to notice that spending is out of control.

People will get a queasy feeling that Congress and the Administration are just throwing trillions of dollars at problems without the least idea what they are doing.

Obama's rhetoric will get old.

Obama's apology tours will really start to irritate people.

In response to the change in public opinion, the media will rediscover skeptical coverage.

In short, Obama will have to soldier on against real headwinds, for perhaps the first time in his life. How will he react? Unknown, but I doubt it will be graceful. If Obama's only deep conviction is belief in his own greatness, abandonment by his supporters and the press (but I repeat myself) will spark resentment.
