The idea that drilling can set of any kind of a significant earthquake is ludicrous when a 6 megaton bomb can't do it. They have been doing deep drilling around the world for decades without earthquakes.

But of course as you said this is sound bite nation and maybe there will be some negative publicity fueled by a panicked coal industry and the environmental crazies.
