RE: Engel,
Paul obviously has great technical knowledge as do others here.
I wish he wasn't so burdened with questions about stock price. Doesn't bring out the best in him. That's for Wall Street to determine...as a matter of fact I wonder why he ever retired.

I am not short intc or anything, but I see gloom for intc near term.
:(.
The profits will be marginal while intc attempts to boot amd out.
N.S. + cyrix also seem fairly formidable foes.
I am betting that intel will prevail, but its going to be bloody and
drawn out.
Also, I don't think I'll need the performance of Merced before '99
anyway(just by looking at the "Cpu usage" of my task manager). Niether
will the armies of net browsers throughout the world.
Any opinions?

daniel, re: "Paul, excellent observation. Engel et al, got in a group think mode"

I suggest you and your friend Paul start a new thread, "Intel for those that know nothing about the company and don't want to know anything about the company".

I feel confident that you would be safe from Paul Engle's honest and important posts.

John

I certainly agree with you

Everyone should be cautious of Engel's investment advice.

=========================

Apparently he thinks I shorted the stock yesterday before the opening. He thinks this because he doesn't understand the difference between shorting and covering a short sale.

Poor guy SHOULD stick to his slide ruler.
