Maybe it should be read to every child by age 2. that spider fear must be deep-seeded in people. primal fear sort of thing.

When we'd go horse-back riding around here, you had two things... a cherry lil cigar to puff on to keep away the gnats and flys, and a stick to slash through the amazingly large spider webs that would block trails, woven from tree to tree.
