Jim,

<This week has opened the eyes of many Techies about the dynamics of world markets and that nothing operates in a vacuum.>

I think what this week shows more than anything is why nearly all mutual fund managers underperform the market year after year after year. Their panic attacks and need to try and time the market's every move were apparent for all to see in the last couple days. On the other hand, disciplined investors who have picked solid stocks like INTC and MSFT and CSCO have significantly outperformed the market over the last 10 years by doing nothing but holding.

BTW, welcome aboard.

FF

Jim, re: "This week has opened the eyes of many Techies about the dynamics of world markets and that nothing operates in a vacuum."

Sorry, you are 100% wrong, and I resent the condesending attitude. If you don't understand the fundamentals of a company you are going to make many errors trading it's stock, I thought you had learned that from Mike B, who always understood the fundamentals (in his own mind). The "tech types" on this thread are realistic investors who weigh the risks based on fundamentals, which regardless of of day to day trading, will prove out in time, with more reliability than trading.
