Looking over those reports of that stolen trading software and the programmed trading vehicles, I suspect they're front running trades up here, too. The small stuff is pretty much what you see on the order book, but a few times I've hit a pretty large bid on something like Goldcorp "at market" only to see the trade take 30-60 seconds to go through, and then at a few cents higher than the last ask. Bid-ask has then immediately sunk to what it was before. Same on the down side. Somebody is making the market with microseccond long shares, and using me to squeeze a few cents of profit. At least, that's my suspicion... CD
