Extermination was the result of a particular mindset. The more the German Nazis transgressed the more serious became their transgressions until eventually they believed they had the moral authority to exterminate certain races and minorities off the planet. They didn't start out as race exterminators but they ended up there. When someone defends what we did in Iraq, that to me smacks of the same kind of mindset. If someone can defend the unprovoked invasion of another country, its not long before other previously forbidden practices become acceptable. And I believe that possibility exists in all of us. After all, unbridled power is an appealing aphrodisiac that is capable of corrupting all of us. I do think that the unprovoked invasion of other countries on our part is bad, I just don't think it's Nazism. Sometimes you have to exaggerate a call to get someone's attention. I think of Tim as the 'good' German who ignored the Nazi rumors for the good of the Fatherland. Does that make them any less guilty.....not in my book.
