You know what is going to happen. The Gov will make it illegal not to accept Medicare.

You think this would fly in America? I think Americans will understand that if you force doctors to work for the government at the government's rate of pay, doctors will head for the hills in huge numbers. I don't think most Americans will support forbidding doctors to set up private practices, cash only if they like.

I think this is how Obama plans to trim the health care budget. Decline to cover so many procedures for Medicare patients by requiring an excessive amount of paperwork to gain approval for such. No doctor can afford that so the elderly will die earlier, thus freeing up much needed money.

i was to get a shingles vaccine during my physical.. well dr sent me to pharmacy first to check insurance coverage. huh? so i go and give them my medicare card they wouldn't accept it.. i figure since it is injection i give them my aetna card , extended medicare coverage.. nope wouldn't accept it.. next they wanted drug card.. i gave them my medco card.. medco came back not covered under my insurance. bill $212. i refused the shot. and sent note to dr to check with his office manager of medicare coverage..

i explained it to my friend who last year got the shingles vaccine( then came down with shingles) and he said his medicare covered the shot. i went out on the web and it appears medicare does pay for injected medication.

so i sit without the vaccine for over a year.. it was on back order for a year, and now because of coverage or price!

things used to be so much simpler.

ps i wrote to help desk on medicare, got a response not theirs and call 800 number which i lost will have to start that one over again. then dr gave me new web site starting up by un ofpenn health.. like yours i will get all my history, blood work, medications,, etc.. can ask questions and get responses.. i asked a question,, response was they handle technical questions i should direct my question to dr office. huh?
