" What would you have Obama do - nothing? That would be political suicide"

"What we need is time, lots of time to deleverage the mess made before Obama was our President."

Well, which is it? More stimulus? Or deleverage? More stimulus is obviously not deleveraging.

I'm not a Republican, and I don't want more money wasted on another stimulus. It's not about Dem or Repub these days, Wall Street and Washington act in their self interest, not in the interest of the people.

<With the comments on this thread, I would think the people here for the most part would be cheering Obama for dismissing a second stimulus.>

I'd be cheering him if I thought he really meant it.

>>He's been president for barely 6 months and unless you think the economy can be turned off and on like a water faucet, what does one really expect given the economy he inherited?<<

to not transfer the debts of millionaires onto the tax payer after promising not to do so in unequivocal terms?

youtube.com

yes, i'm glad they didn't pump up another stimulus after having only spent 10% of the current stimulus.

the government is also concerned about a heated economy jamming rates higher and messing up their need to borrow $3.5 trillion this year.

" I'm so sick of everyone blaming each other climbing into their respective ideological corners - but have nothing real to offer."

The problem is he over promised. He blames the prior administration for everything and claims he has the answers. Promised the stimulus would work quickly that unemployment would not exceed, I don't remember but we are past it already, rushed it through so no one could read it and now it turns out there were few shovel ready projects and hardly any of the money has been spent.

The guy is just making one mistake after another. He is the worst combination possible a liberal and incompetent. I hope I am wrong but we may be looking back on the Bush years as the "good old days".
