Another day of excessive heat is expected in the southern Plains, with record highs possible in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Houston and Oklahoma City. Excessive heat warnings are in effect for eastern Oklahoma, southeastern Kansas and west central Arkansas.

Excessive heat warnings are also in effect for southwestern Arizona and southeastern California. Highs this week in Phoenix will top 110 degrees, with nighttime lows dropping only into the mid 80s.

The cooler temperatures requires a shift in how our bodies react-----we are having the 60's at night and the 80's in the day. Not bad at all.

We are in the 70's today and it was positively cool last night.

Very atypical weather for us this time of year.
