The site you listed is not an official site, but a fan site. However, it looks like you are right. The VOLT range will be about 440 miles, which is more than typical ICE cars of its size today.

The GM site, doesn't list the actual range, but I did find this article from Edmunds:

UPDATE: Range of Chevy Volt Extended-Range PHEV NOT Shortened

blogs.edmunds.com

Earlier today the blog KickingTires reported that the total driving range of the Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid electric vehicle had dropped to 400 miles, 40 by way of a battery pack and 360 via an onboard gas engine/generator. Electricity from both sources will power the Volt's electric motor.

We reported the reduced driving range, giving KickingTires proper credit, and we promised to update the story as warranted. Well, an update is certainly warranted.

After making many calls to GM and Chevrolet sources,
all of whom said they could neither confirm nor deny the KickingTires report, we received a return call from Rob Peterson, a GM spokesman attached to the Volt program.

Peterson said that "nothing's changed" regarding the Volt since Green Car Advisor reported three months ago that the size of the Volt's gas tank had shrunk from an initial 12-gallon capacity to an undisclosed size. The smaller tank, as we reported, reduced the Volt's total driving range between fill-ups and recharges from 640 miles to 440 miles.
