Even when the economy does start to improve, employment will be very slow to go down.

Reasons:

1. Many people are working part time now. They will be moved to full time first before any new hiring, therefore showing no reduction in unemployment.

2. Current full time employees will do overtime before new hires are added.

3. People who have given up looking for work will start looking again, so will add to unemployment numbers.

13% unemployment before the end of the year, some prominent economists are saying.

Personally, I'm not worried, in fact a bit of deflation might improve my lifestyle, but I feel sorry people in early or mid career.

Viva la change!
