Since the intro to email and instant messaging, I've gone to all the short cuts. That's a bad habit to get into and still maintain an ability to spell correctly. I use "bot" because it's shorter, "gonna" for the same reason. Of course there is LOL or ggg and on and on this stuff goes. Those kids that text all the time prolly can't spell their own name.

Back in the '70s I worked for a time as a Customs Broker. We used an old manual typewriter to type up entry cards used to clear freight through Customs. The entries had to identify the airline and flight number.

Frequently I found myself typing "United Airlines" as "Untied Airlines."

Pretty apt description in hindsight.
