"The Deer Hunter" was depressing but very real to life. I skipped "Leaving Las Vegas", a lil too close to real life for me. :) "Pi" I very enjoyed. Among a few other offbeat films. the rightwing can be easier, imo, to 'define'. the left is diverse. if you go 'farleftie'... well, you have the lesbians who don't even eat cheese and would not kill a fly (literally) but you also have the guys who would cheer on Che when he did the worst of his deeds. the latter I have no interest in. it is simply a reverse violence, but the same result in the end. I saw a show on the Cambodian guy recently... I need to read up on him... anyways... in his younger days he sounded quite interesting and thoughtful... then he got power and went insane... really really murderously insane. how that happen?
