He's pathological with his lying. It's a compulsion to say the opposite of what he's actually doing or what is really happening. He does it over and over again. I don't see it as pathological, which implies that he can't help it. I simply see it as a habitual practice of his. He wants to hide his real intentions with smoke and mirrors. It was highly effective when he was mostly campaigning and there wasn't a long track record of decisions to show up his real beliefs; but it will wear out its welcome now.
