After the Chinese slapped around Geithner a bit, and laughed in his face when he spoke about our "strong dollar" policies, it looked for a while that the administration might cool down. But - no chance for that. Messing with an economy and raising taxes during a slowdown has never been considered a wise strategy. But - our fearless leaders want to make maximum use of their "supermajority moment". After that - who cares. Something will come up. Regrettably, nothing will come up. The way things go, we may find ourselves uncompetitive -- and out of credit.
