I'm so very sorry to hear that Neeka! Yours is a story that is being played out in nearly every area of the country. And it does show the lie to the Obama theory that to tax (continually) the rich won't backfire. When the millionaire group of rich can't afford to do the projects they want done~~(even if some or most of their wealth is on paper or in stock grants they can't cash right now)~~ it does point out how widespread this recession/depression really is...

When people lose 30-50% of their savings that were in the stock market, IRA's, etc....it's very difficult to feel positive about much of anything.

I can well imagine your employees hated to leave too...You both would be fair and honest employers.

Do any of them realize what Obama and team have caused?

New construction is nearly dead here.

What is different this time is - In the past when new slowed down, remodelling picked up.
That is not happening.

Also, small business storefront vacancies are increasing at a frightening rate in all the strip malls.
Makes me wonder if a commercial real estate bust is getting closer.

Son-in-law manages an executive small jet repair and maintenance business.
Just cut everyone to 4 days with corresponding pay cut.
Told me the planes are just not being used as much.
