I think the rich should pay more. I don't mind paying more if I earn more. It's a privilege to live in the US and I'm willing to pay for it, as long as the programs appear to genuinely address things I would like fixed. In general, I want people to be well educated, so I'm ok with spending on education. I'd like less bureaucracy, and more spent on actual schools- but I'm not going to withhold my money just because the system isn't perfect. I want the government to spend on infrastructure- I'd prefer it not be pork, but even pork puts hard working Americans to work. And I'm ok with that.

My children will, I hope, have very good jobs- so I have no doubt they will be able to pay for their share of the government burden- and if it gets too onerous, they will move. We are none of us so in love with the ground on which we live that we wouldn't move if it was imperative we did so. I suppose some people may be that crazy in love, but we are not. We are realistic idealists.
