I don't like how GS has come out of this in such good shape. Paulson used to run GS. Doesn't smell right. The few people I know that are fairly big players in the industry agree with you. GS has always been the Mercedes of wall street. There's been lots of grousing about Paulson and the complaints may be legitimate but it wouldn't surprise me if Paulson didn't do much to help. GS has ways of making money without any special favors. I particularly hated when they helped manipulate oil to $150.
