It's a matter of what indicators you look at. If you look at lagging indicators, then you will see things getting worse or at least not getting better. If you look at leading indicators that tell you what the future holds, these have all turned sharply upwards, which means the recovery is imminent. We're even seeing companies like Intel come out with strong earnings, proving that for them the turnaround is already here.

Anyway, as a guy who believes in statistics, my advice to you is to look at leading indicators, if you want to know where we're headed in the future.
