I've never suggested otherwise. If you print money and blow it you're going to increase GDP. But it doesn't fundamentally change things, and when you quit spending -- which you have to do eventually -- it just comes back.

Sort of like we found with wage/price controls. You can stop the spiral, but as soon as you remove the controls, you basically give it all back.

The big problem, of course, is the other shoe that will drop down the road -- inflation.
