I've been a Schwab customer for years, and have NEVER been satisified with their interactive response time. I use SchabNOW through the web. I tried for 3 hours this morning to logon and couldn't do it. I finally called another one of my brokers and placed an order through them.

It's ironic that just a couple of weeks ago a marketing firm called and wanted detailed information on my opinion of Schwab and how I use it. My biggest complaint was response time. Today, response time was non-existent because I never got logged on. I'd get the signon screen, provided my account number and password ... then just clocked for several minutes. Sooner or later, the same signon screen would reappear and I'd start all over. Very irritating.

Thomas,

Thanks for answering the question I had really been wondering about, ie: did the e.Schwab direct software work today? That's the only method I didn't try, including getting on the roof top and yelling, to reach Schwab. Now I feel absolutely correct, in my righteous indignation, towards Schwab. I used to use StreetSmart and the same thing would happen with it.....if the web was slow or busy, StreetSmart wouldn't get through either. I've had this nagging fear that I had over looked "the one way" I could have made my trades today, so thanks for relieving my anxiety. JR

I'm not having any access problem myself but after reading this and other boards I'm beginning to wonder if it's just dumb luck. When you say All were "busy" does that mean you could reach CompuServe but not Schwab or the phone line was busy?
