Just like the Dems in Reagan's first term - the president is awful, his policies are awful, everyone on our side hates them so everyone must hate them, nothing but disaster ahead for everyone, and so on and so on. It's a great compensating mechanism after a crushing loss of power, but it doesn't do anything to help the party refocus and find a new message or leadership. Instead they turn to Sarah the Spectre as the magical solution. And Rush and Newt and Glenn and Ann and the whole screeching wolfpack. Truly lost in the wilderness.
