When I first learned about the availability of TIPS (Treasury Inflation Protection Securities) I went for it. I legged into IPE (SPDR Lehman Barclays Capital TIPS) for an average price a little over $48. It closed today at $49.41. It's tied to the Consumer Price Index. When inflation becomes evident, this fund should do quite well. Otherwise, I'm in savings accounts that pay just above and just below 2% with everything except a modest "trading" account I speculate on e-mini's with.
