AFAIK, I'm the only person here who understands accounting sufficient to have passed the exam. Unless there is another CPA present that I don't know about.

It's not a deficit until it begins to run in the red.

Ask him what the interest rate is for a debt projected over an infinite time horizon.

If you have a couple young kids that you intend to send to college does that mean you're several hundred thousand dollars in debt? Do you have to pay interest on that debt?

Or does in mean you need to get your act together and be ready when the time comes, as we do with Medicare?
