What is the purpose of the Cuban sanctions???? And btw, many of their economic hardships are caused by our sanctions...

Which is why economic sanctions aren't a great approach in many cases. Like tax cuts, saber rattling, social programs and other things that many people figure are a general solution, they all have their time and place.
