I'm very much against the current manifestation of the GOP. Reagan's, Bush Sr's, and Gingrich's GOP was a more honorable pragmatic party. This current party is really not GOP at all, but neocon. They are VERY rightwing and extreme in their views. As a result, they lost the moderate GOP members and the Independents that would typically vote GOP. It'll be awhile before the GOP gets back in power. They'll have to either moderate their positions or hope the Dems screw the pooch in a big way, before the GOP gets back to power.
