You know and I know that the spending went up massively. If you don't take common and essentially undisputed information as a given than the chart doesn't show the points you want to make either, at least not the partisan ones as the chart (the 2nd one) doesn't list presidential parties. "The US government strongly increased spending as the debt levels increased" is as established as "Clinton was a Democrat".
