This is NOT about being pro or con on a particular issue, the issue is irrelevant. The question is, if someone discusses something in a textbook and is then said to be advocating that idea - especially if they explicitly say that they do NOT approve of the idea - then the person who makes that claim is lying about the other person's actual position.

It's that simple. It can either be done through ignorance, an idiot who knows nothing about logical proofs, or willfully, which makes the person a knowing liar.

Global warming is a very complex subject that deserves honest discussion on its own merits, with everyone's views presented accurately.
