Maybe the people in CA and NY and all the states that have such high taxes and near bankruptcy because of items like this, and labor unions high costs and benefits, will start to realize just how many Millions it takes to make up just one Billion dollars….

But if it is like every other time of overspending, when it comes time to rein in the costs, the first thing to go is the visible…i.e. the roads and upkeep of city properties fall into disrepair immediately. Never the higher than industry salaries, and benefits…..oh no, that would get those special interest knickers in a knot.

The fleet reduction will save at least $24.1 million the first year, according to the Department of General Services

Meanwhile, the governor and legislative leaders met Friday in an effort to plug California's $26.3-billion deficit. Education financing and welfare cuts remained sticking points.
