i've rationed myself by going to catastrophic coverage since recognizing i had to continue to pay by way of exorbitant premiums to subsidize bums like ricky and robert for their 'basic coverage' costing millions....looking forward to rationing in a big way ...it'll be AWESOME

patron, the plan you outlined is both reasonable and rational, however, that means government officials will have to cause some well paying special interests to take a big hit.

i don't think that is the best way to bet.

It's a whole new ballgame if a true public option allows competition. It's a whole new ballgame if Medicare anti kickback statutes are (ever) enforced. It's a whole new ballgame if existing California Labor Code is enforced. eg. California Doc in the boxes (Kaiser is another example) make an absolute mockery of this one:

139.3. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, to the
extent those services are paid pursuant to Division 4 (commencing
with Section 3200), it is unlawful for a physician to refer a person
for
clinical laboratory, diagnostic nuclear medicine, radiation
oncology, physical therapy, physical rehabilitation, psychometric
testing, home infusion therapy, outpatient surgery, or diagnostic
imaging goods or services whether for treatment or medical-legal
purposes if the physician or his or her immediate family, has a
financial interest with the person or in the entity that receives the
referral.

aint gonna happen: you apparently have not read the bill. the public option is a joke, will cover a tiny group (under 10 million) and will have no force whatsoever
