Emtala only applies to transfers to different facilities. I'm talking urgent care contained within an ER, with lower intensity facilities and staffing (though still 24/7 availability). Note that laws can be changed, especially when uncle sugar is paying the tab......<G> Once 36-48 hour waits in "ER"'s become common (ie, within 3-6 months of Obamacare being enacted), you WILL see this.
