She wasn't a big fan of HillaryCare, but from her reading, it was a carefully drafted and thought-out program compared to what's being discussed now. She's convinced that if the administration succeeds, the ripple effect will cost Democrats the House in 2010 and her patients' their access to high quality, affordable care.


Whatever you thought of Hillarycare, Hillary and Ira Magaziner at least approached it as a difficult policy problem that needed hard work and thought, not a political victory to be won by a blitzkrieg campaign, and never mind what results ensue.

That is an amazing piece by Estrich, a McGovernite from way back... She is right....it is important for us all to be calling everyone in any kind of position in the House and Senate to tell them what we think of this medical baloney, and cap and trade while we're at it...
