Ostensibly, because without us there the Taliban would have the country under their control (like they did previously) and be training more mad bombers to attack us and our interests. Is that the true objective in Afghanistan? Then should not we be in Indonesia where the Islamic extremists just killed 9 foreigners, including an American who stayed in JW Marriot and Ritz Carlton in Indonesia/ Don't you think these suicide bombers attack us (Americans) and our interests. Where will we be next? Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Malaysia, Indonesia? How many troops do we have left? Reinstate the draft? Should we become police of the world?
