The goal is to stabilize the country so it won't become a Taliban training ground Is that our goal throughout the world? Is it more important than our domestic problem? I don't mind helping Afghanistan people by sending weapons but not American lives. If Kharzai is a legitimate president and runs an elected government, then the Talibans are rebels. If a country cannot deal with rebels, then the government is not worthy to stay in power. We have seen many in countries in Africa succumbed to rebels, and yet, we don't send troops to those countries.
