To give some substance to my submission, let me quote an example.

My benchmark is the S&P500, but recognising the weakness of the US$ I insist on hedging its results to the Canadian dollar, (which is xsp.to). In US$ terms, this security is up ~60% since the beginning of March.

Another. EFA trades in New York. It is like "a big international S&P500 index that covers all developed countries except USA and Canada". Compare its present performance (since March) with that of gold.
