"Life on the left - if as shown by Canada - is pretty good.

Careful, lightning bolts may come shooting down from the heavens to strike you down for that remark, LOL.

If Canada was 20 degrees warmer I would seriously look into settling down there one day. "

One has to ask the question if it is possible to implement Canada in the US. The demographics are hugely different and in their favor. They are a commodities exporting nation and do not have a huge balance of trade deficit for energy.

Canada has a very small military - but they are doing yeoman's work in Afghanistan.

If we could be like Canada - life would still be good - very good. I do not think we could be like Canada - but that is a very good question to discuss. Here is an article in today's Toronto Star for consideration.

"The United States has an opportunity to make a fresh start. While the Canadian system, if applied to the U.S. and pro-rated for the larger economy, would save it a $1 trillion a year and cover its whole population, the U.S. reforms now being considered could cost an additional $1 trillion over the next 10 years. These higher costs will represent an enormous additional burden on employers and taxpayers."
