They used diffusers, reflectors, and a gizmo that clipped on to the flower stem to dampen movement

I acquired a reflector kit a few months ago but haven't had the occasion to use it. The best use I suspect is when you're taking pictures in the middle of the day when the sun is high over head and the shadows are difficult to control.

I don't walk in the middle of the day - especially now with the heat - usually early morning and at dusk when the lighting is the best.

The purple lilies were from a garden that had a number of dahlias. I'll grab a couple of shots of those next time.
