RW, > Excuse me Mr. Culture Wars. When you've sweated to pay your mortgage for 17 years come back and see me.

Of course John. You paid your dues to society, so why not raise those dues for the generation following you?

As long as you're not the one left holding the bag. Cash out now and spend the rest of your life whining about ungrateful youngsters.

"I got mine" ...

Guess what, you don't support your community and you are throwing those mortgage payments down a rat hole. Your house isn't worth anything without your community.

That's the truth. That's, in fact, what's happening in CA. When I moved there, I was surprised how disconnected people were in their neighborhoods. In MN, if you were having a problem, you were more likely to turn to a neighbor for help. In CA, you are more likely to call a friend to come over and help. When the riots broke out in LA, the city fell apart completely. There was no sense of community.......no sense of being in it together. Its why CA may not come back this time. Without community and a sense of belonging, you don't feel very committed.
