(Full text of press release from Canada NewsWire) AMOCO CANADA ANNOUNCES NEW CHAIRMAN AND PRESIDENT CALGARY, October 28 /CNW/ - Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Ltd. announced today that R. Gregory Rich has been appointed as the company's Chairman and President. Bob Erickson, current Chairman and President, will be relocating to Baku, Azerbaijan, where he will hold the position of Chief Operating Officer with Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), a 12-company consortium led by Amoco Corporation and British Petroleum. Mr. Rich has been with Amoco Corporation for 25 years and currently holds the position of Vice President - Crude Oil Export for Azerbaijan International Operating Company. He has held other international positions such as General Manager for Amoco Gabon Exploration Company and Manager - Projects and Engineering for Amoco Trinidad Oil Company. Mr. Rich was also Vice President - Business Development for Amoco Production Company. Educated at the University of California, Mr. Rich has a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering, as well as an MBA. His appointment as Chairman and President becomes effective January 1, 1998. In his new role, Mr. Erickson will assume direct operational management of AIOC as they move into the next phase of full field development. The AIOC consortium is involved in one of the world's largest oil projects - the development of three major fields in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea, which together are estimated to have four billion barrels of recoverable reserves. Mr. Erickson and his wife Heather will be moving to Baku early in the new year.
