I live in the country. No building codes. If I want to put a hog farm on the lot next door, nothing to stop me.

That's one reason people live in the county. We don't want city ordinances interfering with our lives.

Every law, regulation or ordinance takes away someone's personal freedom. Society has to weigh the cost (in freedom) versus the benefit. If society wants to limit the use of marijuana I really don't have a problem with it. But to take a legal substance (like tobacco) and limit its use is just a bit too much Big Brother for my taste. Speed limits are fine, as they protect the public. But telling me how much water my toilet can use when it flushes is just way, way, WAY over the line.
