Well then, instead of third party questions, you should simply ask.

If you had read my post carefully, I said he was an intellectual giant as it pertains to the "law".

The other issues he discusses, blogs about and so forth, are his personal views. Unlike many on the hard entrenched and dogmatic left, I can accept different points of view in a Supreme Court nominee, as long as he or she has superb law credentials. I believe when someone respects the law enough, when they are appointed to the Supreme Court, they will adjudicate in a fair-minded way based on their interpretation of the law. And I want someone who has thought a great deal about it serving in that position.

Sotomayer is a light lunch as compared to a jurist like Richard Posner, she hasn't written one book, or probably been sighted by anyone. Richard Posner is one of the greatest living American jurist, maybe the greatest. He's written several thousand opinions and dozens of books on the law.

Sotomayer is barely qualified to carry his lunch.

As I think about why I like Posner so much, I now believe Supreme Court appointments should, in most cases, be held for those older than 60. The honor should be the culmination of a long and distinguished career, spanning decades of thoughtful influence and research into the law.
