Medicare is a single payer, government universal health care system for all Americans over the age of 65 who are by far the predominate patients for knee replacements.

Do you know any of these universal health care, single payer Medicare patients that have waited 3 years for a knee replacement because of Medicare?

Medicare is also $36 Trillion in the hole. The entire objective of health care reform is to "save money", which IMPLIES intensive rationing of what we now know as Medicare.

So, you cannot -- as you've tried to do -- draw any parallel between Medicare as it now stands are Medicare as it will be after the rationing legislation has passed.

What we know for sure is that Medicare has been a tremendous fiscal failure even though its operation is subsidized by private insurance companies and even self-paying patients.
