I have both Verizon and Comcast service. I've never really had occasion to call Verizon, but the Comcast help didn't take nearly as long as Social Security or Civil Service numbers.

To be fair, I was dealing with the Thrift Savings Plan which is based in New Orleans. Their forms suck, and I made a mistake that caused my withdrawal to be rejected, but I called and a very nice lady stayed with me until I got it fixed.

That was during Katrina. She was evacuated while my problem was active, and I still got my problem fixed.

I've had frustrating dealings with cable and phone companies in the past like most have, but I have to say in the last few years whenever some issue comes up it gets handled a lot more expeditiously. Maybe those type outfits h/b working on their service.

Was on hold with Comcast this morning for 18 minutes and then they hung up on me... Ugh!
