I love hearing family stories like yours.....thanks.

I could go on and on about my family history. I was pretty young when that stuff started happening. I would listen to my elders intently, and unconsciously remember names and events. I would lay in bed at night trying to put all of those dates and names together in some crude, chronological outline.

Then my mind got muddled with things such as English, and Math and History and I was very busy taking in all this information. I was also exposed to the lines between the worlds of land and sea, which gave me a good perspective.

I felt exposed and vulnerable and didn't have time or the experience to be worried about what I did and did not remember about my family history let alone how important it all was/is.

I have some of the documents and records, copies of Civil War, Revolutionary War, land grants, lots of pictures and personal letters..........although I really have very little of the latter...........to look to when I'm motivated to put two and two together.

I'm pretty happy to be able to share in the gene pool I was lent, and I understand pride and honor thanks to the folks who created me and took the time to make sure I know who I am.

;)
