While AQ would love to wipe us off the map, their main objective is to force us to curtail our ways of living. To the extent they could do that with more limited attacks (e.g., suicide bombings, isolated smaller terror attacks) they have achieved a significant portion of their goal. The reality is they haven't been able to do it for one reason only: The policies of GWB.
