70% of the American economy consists of consumer spending. Ten would REALLY hate it if the government just gave all of us HIS taxes to spend! But, it might be more "stimulative" than anything.

Ben Bernanke once jokingly proposed just dropping money from helicopters, as a way to get it into consumers hands. He was just HALF joking..

RW, you were against the Bush tax cuts, weren't you? That arguably cut short the Clinton recession. (That and low interest rates which started the real estate bubble.)

We're well beyond what can be "stimulated" now.
