At the same time, Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina refused to take back his assertion earlier that the health care overhaul Obama is pushing will be his "Waterloo."

This was an utterly stupid remark for him to have made publicly.

Even though we all know it is true. If Obama is defeated on his health care agenda, he is a lame duck. The anti-American cap-and-trade bill will go down in flames, and he will be stuck trying to execute an agenda of also-ran legislation.

Not a total victory. He will still have nationalized the automakers -- which there is no conceivable way for the country to now get out of. Many of us would never have believed it could have happened.
